Couples Shoot: First Photo

As well as the six fabulous ladies I photographed during last weekend’s boudoir marathon, I also got to shoot my first ever couple boudoir session! It was pretty different to photographing the girls - instead of directing them, I let them get comfortable with each other, and get into positions that felt natural. I then did a little directing for the details such as hand position, gaze and so on. I shot non-stop for just under an hour - they had a wedding reception to get back to! - and I’m so pleased with how the shots turned out. I felt we were really capturing the essence of their relationship in the images, something which can be very tough to do in such a staged situation.

As I’m sure you’ll be able to tell from this teaser photo, they were a wonderful couple to work with. They are so very much in love, really comfortable with each other, and great fun too! Thanks, guys, for letting me share the first of your images.

The Boudoir Marathon: Teasers

Well, we all survived last weekend’s boudoir marathon, and I have to say it was probably the most fun I’ve ever had with my camera! I ended up booking up all seven slots over Saturday and Sunday, and although it was exhausting it was worth every second. The girls looked great, and they did me proud by bringing wine, music, lots of very cute outfits and some even came with a friend - something I definitely recommend if you’re at all nervous.

I’m planning on scheduling sessions on Saturday August 25th and either Saturday or Sunday September 8th/9th … so if you’re thinking about signing up then let me know soon - there’s already a lot of interest in both sessions.

I’ve just sent the girls their first teaser photos - and three of them have kindly agreed to let me show them off to the world. Thank you ladies! I won’t mention any names, but here are three of the lovely ladies I photographed on Saturday night …

Boudoir Shoot on June 23rd

Latest news: The sessions are fully booked! Watch this space for more info about up-coming boudoir shoots later this summer!

It’s been a crazy week here - work is piling in, I’ve been out in Illinois for a week’s vacation, and all of a sudden I’m doing a day of boudoir shoots on Saturday June 23rd! I thought I’d better post about it here in case you’ve been reading and are interested - and you’d better be quick because the first three slots have already filled up! (I currently have availability at 6:30pm, 8pm and 9:30pm.)

Here are the package details:

  • a one hour shoot in a suite at a very nice hotel in Seattle (further details on request)
  • a CD/DVD of high-resolution, edited, print-ready images
  • as many outfit/hair/makeup changes as you like within the time frame
  • as many poses as you like - and I have a ton of ideas for you, so don’t worry about being nervous!
  • a private slide show hosted on my website - which you can choose to share with your significant other or even your friends if you wish

The total price is $200 (plus tax) - and I’m covering the cost of the hotel, so no nasty hidden charges! I’ll also be offering a print package if you’d prefer to get some fine-art prints rather than create your own photo album book (lots of girls use iPhoto, MyPublisher, and similar services to create an affordable photo album for their sweeties).

There are other boudoir photos on here, but here’s one of my favorites of the gorgeous Michelle - from my first ever boudoir shoot!

A Wedding in Woodinville: Pamela & Scott

On Sunday May 10th, I photographed the wedding of Pamela & Scott at The Hollywood Schoolhouse in Woodinville. The weather was terrible, but the venue was awesome - a treasure trove of photographic delights! There were rocking horses, grandfather clocks, lace curtains … and it certainly matched Scott & Pamela’s eclectic, funky style - they had a Japanese sake ceremony as part of the service, and after the traditional dancing, they got up and played with their band (yes, that’s the groom below, playing his guitar and singing!)

The ceremony itself was the most touching I’ve ever seen - thanks in large part to Annemarie Juhlian, wedding officiant extraordinaire. She’s warm, friendly and enthusiastic - and I can highly recommend her to all you future brides and grooms out there, especially those looking for something a little different.

Still, that’s enough talk - here’s what you really want to see - the photos!

A Teaser for Pamela & Scott

The wedding of Pamela and Scott was almost two weeks ago, on May 20th, at The Hollywood Schoolhouse - my new favorite location for weddings and events, by the way. I should have all their photos finished in the next couple of days, but they’re itching to see them so I thought it would only be fair to show a little teaser.

This is the gorgeous Pamela, who must be the coolest bride I’ve ever met. She has the world’s most awesome tattoos (more photos coming) including Pac-Man figures around her forearm … fabulous!
