Oooh, my wedding on Saturday was so awesome! After a week of gray skies and rain, the sun came out for us on Saturday morning as I headed out to the UW campus to meet Jay, Mary and their wonderful friend and officiant, Erin. The cherry blossoms aren’t quite in full bloom yet, but the light was perfect and we had so much fun wandering around in the sunshine for an hour.
At 11am we headed over to Blue Ribbon Culinary School, a new venue for me and an instant favorite. The staff is wonderful and it’s a very cute little place right on Lake Union … and of course the food is amazing. We had a full spread of Asian wonder-foods, including carrot, apple and jicama salad, Panang chicken curry (our dish of the day) and super fresh and tasty shrimp skewers. Such a treat! We even got to sit with some of Mary’s best friends for lunch and it was really fun getting to know them (hey guys!)
The ceremony and toasts were the best kind of emotional, with equal amounts of giggles and tears. And I love how Mary and Jay had their closest friends and family members perform all the important roles. Everything was so perfect at this lovely wedding, not least the cake (yum! Thank you, Cake Envy) and the cake-cutting … during which they broke the knife, oops! It was very cute
I hope you’re having a gorgeous honeymoon, and that you enjoy your teaser photos below, and the teaser slideshow (click here).
