On Saturday, I met up with Kate and Alex near their home in Cambridge, MA. I’ve spent so little time on the north side of the river, and I’d forgotten how pretty it is over there. We decided to take a stroll south from their home in the Oxford area, stopping at some favorite spots for photos. We started in Harvard Yard – I love the clean lines of the architecture here:

These shots up high on a ledge were cute – I love it when couples get distracted during the session as it makes for really natural photos.

After a little while exploring Harvard, we wandered down to the Charles River. It was teeming with people, but I loved this blossoming tree that Kate found:

And these shots are some of my favorites of the day – love the giggles!

I spotted another blossom-covered tree on our way past JFK Park:

And then I saw this boat mural – it was perfect for Kate and Alex’s cute nautical-inspired outfits![]()

We went back to their place for a quick change of clothing and to pick up the album of letters. Alex and Kate’s first year together was spent long-distance (Kate was in China for a year), and they have an amazing collection of letters. I’m excited to see how they use the letters in their wedding – please let me know if you have any great ideas that I can pass on to them!

Our last stop of the day was their favorite coffee shop, Simon’s. I had an awesome vanilla latte (thank you Alex!) and am happy to report that I have finally found west coast quality coffee in the Boston area.

As we were heading back from the coffee shop, we grabbed a couple of last sun-drenched shots. These might be my absolute favorites of the day. Love those golden halos!

Thank you both for an amazing afternoon and I hope you enjoy your (ridiculous amount of) teasers. I can’t wait for your wedding at The Lyman Estate in Waltham this August!
