A couple of Saturdays ago, I met up with sweethearts Kate and Danny for their engagement session. It was a bitterly cold day, so we took shelter in the Boston Public Library (such a great space for engagement photos). Of course, the couple of photos we took outside at the end of the session turned out to be my absolute favorites (what can I say? The sun is my favorite light source!) so I’ll start with one of those:
Danny and Kate met on eHarmony (yay for internet dating – that’s how Josh and I met too!) They are the absolute perfect match, too – smart, sweet and just a little bit quirky. They really seem to fit. I loved watching them interact; they had very little input from me during our session. Our first stop in the library was the grand staircase; I love this space, and the amazing murals there:
Then, we headed into the (very busy) reading room. Another gorgeous spot:
OK, so I couldn’t resist a few more photo in the grand hallway . I really like those huge pillars.
We had a wander through the library and decided to take some photos with these book shelves. The lying on the floor was all them and I love it!
Bold architecture, crazy light, and lots of leading lines …
We headed out to the little courtyard at the library for some outdoor shots and I like this sweet sequence of Kate and Danny chatting. The look of love on Danny’s face when he talks to Kate is immense. ![]()
I’m a big fan of this architecture; the lamps are the perfect frosting:
After a few more stops in the library, we headed over to the Christian Science Plaza. It was *so cold* so we only managed a few minutes over there, but I love what we got. The light was pretty special:
Huddled tight and trying not to freeze – there’s something so sweet about this little series:
The light, the light!
Thank you Danny and Kate for a fun afternoon, and for braving the cold outside. I loved getting to know you better and can’t wait for your wedding next fall!
